Reuben Foster’s ex-girlfriend: 49ers intercepted Tampa police in abuse investigation

Elissa Ennis, the ex-girlfriend of former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster, alleged in a televised interview Thursday that she covered up past abuse and team officials attempted to influence a police investigation after she reported Foster attacked her in a Tampa, Fla., hotel.
Speaking on “Good Morning America,” Ennis said 49ers officials called her a liar when speaking with Tampa police on Nov. 24 after she called 911 and told a dispatcher that Foster had slapped her and taken her phone. He was later arrested.
The 49ers cut ties with Foster on Nov. 25, but Washington added him to its roster two days later. Foster remains on the commissioner’s exempt list, meaning he cannot play while the NFL examines his case.
