USF men use experience to rout Cal at Haas Pavilion

USF head coach Kyle Smith joked that he made a mistake by checking the score of the Buffalo-Le Moyne game before the Dons played Cal on Wednesday night.
Buffalo, which — like USF — was playing its first game following a trip to Ireland, was tied at halftime.
“I was terrified of it, to be honest,” Smith said of how his team might be affected by the eight-hour time change. “I shouldn’t have checked the score. I was like, ‘Uh-oh. Maybe they’re stuck in cement.’”
The Dons eased their coach’s fears almost immediately, using an early 13-0 spurt to take control and running away for a 79-60 victory in their first game against Cal since 2008.
