Cal’s Justice Sueing says defense will power Bears

Twenty-three players made their way through the interview gauntlet of Pac-12 media day Thursday, many discussing how they spent their offseason in the weight room, perfecting their jump shot or growing as a leader.
Then, there was Justice Sueing.
“I want to make myself known as a defensive threat this year,” the Cal sophomore forward said. “… Every time I step on the court, I don’t even look at positions. I just see players, and I have to be able to defend every single player, regardless of how tall, how strong or how fast they are.”
Sueing averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game during a trying freshman season in which the Bears went 8-24 and finished in the cellar of the conference.
