Warriors sign free-agent big man Deyonta Davis

The Warriors have signed free agent big man Deyonta Davis to an Exhibit 10 contract, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
In a corresponding move, Golden State has waived guard Will Cherry, who will likely land with the franchise’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
After one season at Michigan State, Davis went No. 31 overall in the 2016 NBA Draft. In two seasons with the Grizzlies, he averaged 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game.
Davis was traded to Sacramento in July in the deal that brought Garrett Temple to the Grizzlies, only for Davis to be waived by the Kings three weeks ago.
