Packers’ Mike McCarthy can relate to 49ers’ QB situation

Green Bay’s Mike McCarthy has won a Super Bowl and six division titles. He has the 11th-best winning percentage in NFL history among coaches with at least 100 victories.
One other thing: He has a 6-11-1 record in games Aaron Rodgers has missed since the All-Pro quarterback became the Packers’ starter in 2008.
Yes, a franchise quarterback makes everyone better, including accomplished coaches, and Green Bay discovered that firsthand when Rodgers was sidelined with injuries in 2013 and 2017.
That history is relevant this week with the 49ers (1-4) preparing to visit Green Bay (2-2-1) on Monday night in their third game since Jimmy Garoppolo sustained a torn ACL.
