49ers’ Toran hopes latest debut is more successful

In 2014, then-UCLA guard Najee Toran made his college debut when the Bruins visited Virginia and, well, things didn’t go well.
“Didn’t have a good game,” Toran said. “Didn’t play after that. And then I (was moved) to defense.”
Four years later, Toran is hoping his NFL debut is far more successful.
Due to injuries to their top two right guards, the 49ers will likely turn to Toran to start Sunday when they host the Lions at Levi’s Stadium.
Toran, an undrafted free agent who wasn’t invited to the NFL combine, was among those the 49ers waived during final roster cuts.
