49ers wary of wounded Lions and new coach Patricia

Matt Patricia has skipped the honeymoon period and advanced straight into hell week.
On Friday, four days after his first game as an NFL head coach, the Lions’ new leader discussed his team’s 31-point, season-opening loss, at home, to a team that went 5-11 last year.
And that wasn’t all. He also fielded a question about an NFL Network report that his demanding style has already alienated some players. And, finally, there was a query about an opponent’s claim that his offense was tipping plays en route to a 48-17 loss to the Jets that included five turnovers.
Now, the Lions will travel 2,400 miles, on a short week, to face the 49ers on Sunday.
