Chris Fatilua, the Cal football recruit who suffered a significant spinal cord injury in June, has advanced to standing and even some walking at a renowned rehabilitation center in the Denver area, according to the team.
“He’s made tremendous progress,” Cal defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter said. “When these injuries happen, the prognosis is usually not very good. You can be lucky, at times, just to have movement back. He’s already on his feet, walking and shuffling. He’s doing some things that initially we thought would never happen.
“We’re really excited about his progress. A lot of prayers are being answered.
