Warriors to host Thunder on Opening Night, LeBron’s Lakers on Christmas Day

The Warriors won’t have to wait long to be featured on national television when the NBA season starts in October.

Golden State will host Oklahoma City in the opener, Oct. 16, in a 7:30 p.m. game televised by TNT, the league announced Wednesday. The Warriors will receive their championship rings and raise their latest banner in a ceremony before the game.

The Warriors-Utah game Oct. 19 in Salt Lake City will be televised at 7:30 p.m. by ESPN.

Another marquee matchup: LeBron James and his new Lakers teammates will visit Oracle Arena at 5 p.m. on Christmas Day. ABC and ESPN each will carry the telecast.
