SF supervisor candidate drops out of race for Katy Tang’s seat

Li Miao Lovett, one of the District Four supervisor candidates in San Francisco’s November election, announced Wednesday she is withdrawing from the race.

Lovett, who has been in public education for two decades, wrote that she is endorsing labor organizer Gordon Mar, the twin brother of former District One supervisor Eric Mar.

“I stepped forward to run because it’s important for D4 to have an independent voice in City Hall,” Lovett wrote in a post on her campaign’s Facebook page Wednesday morning. “I’ve withdrawn my candidacy because I believe Gordon Mar will be that voice, and I wholeheartedly offer him my full support.
