A’s Andrew Triggs gets welcome news at doctor visit: arm is sound

Andrew Triggs got more reassurance this week that the nerve problem he’s dealt with in his right arm dating back to May is not structural in nature.

Triggs visited Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas on Tuesday and after another MRI and more testing, the conclusion was that the A’s starter needs another 10 days to two week of rest to get the nerve issue to calm down.

Triggs was just starting a rehab assignment in Arizona two weeks ago when he felt more tingling in one of his fingers, which created some anxiety; finger numbness can have many causes but among them can be a significant elbow injury. Triggs already has had Tommy John surgery once, while still in high school.
