The Warriors have reached out to JaVale McGee to express interest in re-signing him, a source has confirmed.
But weeks after playing a factor in the NBA Finals, McGee, 30, is also receiving interest from the Thunder, Lakers and Pelicans. McGee, who averaged 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game this past season, probably couldn’t command more from the Warriors than the veteran minimum. Whether he can get more elsewhere depends on how other moves shake out.
Much of this past season, when his playing time was sparse, McGee stayed late after practice for games of 3-on-3, worked on defending guards and forwards, and trusted that his patience would be rewarded with more minutes.
