Marin County employees will not strike on opening day of the Marin County Fair after reaching a three-year labor agreement with officials just before midnight Friday.
The Marin Association of Public Employees, comprised of more than 1,300 workers, negotiated with county officials all day Friday at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael before coming to an agreement at 11:20 p.m., according to county officials.
Employees initially planned on demonstrating outside of ticket booths on the first day of the Marin County Fair Sunday, and striking until Tuesday.
“Fortunately, there will be no strike and county business resumes as usual,” said County Administrator Matthew Hymel.
